Sandia, Los Alamos Labs Land 18 Finalists for R&D 100 awards

New Mexico’s two national laboratories are on the slate for a combined 18 finalists in one of the country’s most prestigious innovation competitions.  R&D Magazine named nine finalists at Sandia National Laboratories this year in its R&D 100 Awards competition, including a double finalist, Neuromorphic Cyber Microscope, which is up for honors in both the IT/Electrical and Software/Services categories. Los Alamos National Laboratory also has nine finalists in the competition, including the quantum-dot technology of UbiQD LLC, which is working on turning windows into solar panels, and recently won an up to $300,000 in the Department of Energy’s Small Business Vouchers pilot program.
